GOALS BOARD CHECK IN: June 2020

It’s a new month! Which means now is a great time to look back at last month’s goals, look ahead to next month’s goals, and check in on your progress with the long-term goals. Let’s take a look at my goals board together!

GOAL: 30 days of squatting for 10 minutes each day of May

The intention behind this goal was to spend 10 minutes (not all in one go) at the bottom of a full-depth squat every day of May. The health benefits of squatting are well-documented and also largely lost on the modern West. I was successful on 24 out of the 30 days (80% success) and noticed a huge improvement in hip and ankle flexibility that carried over to my yoga practice and made me realize just how much improvement I can make over the course of a month.

GOAL: 15 minutes of Self-Authoring every day in May

I wound up completing this on only 15 days. So a 50% success rate isn’t great, but it’s still probably more work than I would have done otherwise had I not set the goal. In retrospect, I should have set this as an accumulation goal rather than a daily habit goal. The ultimate goal is to complete the course, not to build a habit of writing every day. So I’m resetting the goal for the month of June, to accumulate 4 hours of Self-Authoring work.

GOAL: Cecily does 20 ocean dunks in June 2020.

It’s summer! The beaches are open (finally) after 2 months of being closed due to COVID! I’m celebrating by setting a goal to dunk myself in the ocean 20 times in June. And if you’ve ever been in the ocean in Southern California, you know that it is not warm. Pray for me….

GOAL: Cecily accumulates 3,000 double unders in the month of June 2020.

My gym is closed due to COVID right now, which means this is a great time for me to work on my jump rope #skillz. 3,000 double unders may sound like a lot, but it’s really just 100 per day. Or 200 on half of the days. They go pretty fast and I’m excited for how much better and double unders I will be by the end of the month!

GOAL: Cecily accumulates 4 hours of Self-Authoring in June.

Last month’s so-so performance on the Self-Authoring goal prompted me to set a new Self-Authoring goal, only this time with a total sum of time. Using this time-priority method rather than habit-priority, I’ll get credit for the amount of time I put in, not just a check mark every day.

GOAL: Cecily posts 5 website examples to her website in June.

Yep, because photography has slowed way down, I’m jumping back on the website design train! I’ve been building websites for the last seven years, but I don’t really post about it on my own website or socials, because photography is so easy to market on social media. But with the cancellation of so many weddings and events, I’m reinvesting the majority of my time in website design and graphic design for my clients and I need my own website (www.cecilybreeding.com) to reflect that. I’ll be updating the website design section of my website with some of my latest and greatest website design projects in hopes that they will garner some interest from new and current clients whose websites could use some attention. (Know anyone who needs website help?? Please shoot them my way!)

So there you have it! My goals board check in for June 1, 2020. Looking back to May, looking ahead to June.

Keep emailing, texting and messaging me about your goals questions and your wins! And don’t forget to celebrate. It’s so inspiring to me to watch you get out there and crush your goals.

One last thing: if you haven’t signed up yet for the next quarterly Values, Vision, and Goals course on Zoom, make sure you grab your ticket here and mark your calendar for Saturday, August 1.
